  • Role Overview

    Summary/Objective:  This position is primarily responsible for assisting the Credentialing Specialists with keeping track of documents, assuring that credentials are up to date and assisting with the initial preparation of applications for the medical providers.

     

    Essential Functions:   

    • Accurate data entry of documentation from New Hire notifications
    • Facilitate process for New Hire credentialing background checks
    • Tracks expirations information and communicates with both providers and hospital medical staff to ensure licenses and privileges are current
    • Assist in the monitoring of credentialing files for accuracy
    • Maintain credentialing software with data entry elements from credentialing documentation received
    • Maintain an organized electronic credential file for each provider
    • Provide assistance to providers, hospital medical staff, fellow credentialing team members, and clinical/operational leaders
    • Maintain knowledge of the Credentialing Department’s policies/procedures, regulatory standards, and state and federal laws
    • Assist with special projects/assignments related to credentialing and provider enrollment

    Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma or GED
    • Minimum of one to two years of work-related experience in the field of credentialing (preferably healthcare related)

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
    • Proficient and accurate in data entry
    • Ability to prioritize workload and meet strict deadlines
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced and fluid environment
    • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
    • Strong personal motivation with ability to work with little supervision and attention to detail while working in a deadline driven environment
