Role Overview

Summary: The Vice President of Managed Care Strategy leads the strategic direction and operational oversight of the IDR process in compliance with federal and state regulations.

 

*This role can be remote with required work site attendance from time to time in accordance with business conditions.  For those seeking a hybrid work location, we have corporate office locations in Dallas, TX or Washington, DC.  

 

Essential Functions: 

  • Hire, develop, and oversee the third-party mediation and managed care teams.
  • Develop and implement strategic vision, policies, and procedures for the third party mediation function.
  • Oversee processes, timelines, and final determinations to ensure compliance with regulatory deadlines.
  • Partner with various third parties to implement the managed care strategy and usage of third-party mediation processes to ensure collaboration and performance standards are met
  • Ensure the integrity of dispute resolution decisions and documentation.
  • Maintain positive payer relations. Regularly meet with payers to develop relationships.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory changes affecting No Surprise Billing process and update internal processes accordingly.
  • Maintain confidential records and ensure data reporting aligns with federal and/or state guidelines.
  • Manage budgets, resources, and vendor relationships tied to Managed Care operations.
  • Provide regular reporting and performance metrics to executive leadership.
  • Create an environment of continuous process improvement.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years’ experience in payer contracting or other relevant healthcare administrative function (e.g., revenue cycle management, health plan administration, network development)
  • Master’s degree in relevant field (e.g., healthcare or business administration) preferred
  • Experience and understanding of No Surprises Act and its corresponding regulations, and health policies
  • Strong knowledge of managed care and provider regulatory environment and compliance issues
  • Financial analysis and negotiation skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies.
